The look of joy and excitement on the recipients face is what makes my day and tells me whether my efforts of buying a gift were successful or in vain. These are great clues to knowing who they really are.
Sometimes rather than giving them a physical gift you can give a person the gift of an experience. Once you know who they are and what they like you can gift them a hot balloon ride, or a bungee jump or free falling certificate. A memorable experience that they will remember for a long time. It doesn’t have to be adventure related it could be taking a dance or cooking lesson or going to a ceramics studio to paint pre made ceramics. Instead of a gift think of what kind of experience they would like.
I have always experienced this is m life and I believe it is true for others too. Giving always brings more joy than receiving. Rather than giving them a gift. Make a donation to their favorite charity in their name. Not only will you make the person be happy but the charity you donated will benefit as well. Creativity goes a long way. Do something creative – make them a gift. Make them a play list of their favorite songs for their ipod, make them a scrapbook, keeping their likes in mind you can definitely make something for them.
Most important plan for all the gifts you plan to give. Waiting till the last minute will just make you scramble and you won’t be able to pick out the perfect gift that you might want to find for them. So give yourself plenty of time and plan ahead. Remember, the gift is about the other person. So think of them what they would like, their personality and what makes them excited. At the end of the day it is not about the money, it is all about the thought. So put some thought and have fun with it.
